On Saturday 29th June 5 teams travelled down to Paignton to participate in the Dart Netball club end of season tournament. This was the 3rd event between our two clubs and we were happy to accept the invitation to this small multi club tournament.
It Started in the morning with a mixed year 5/6 team playing in the u11 age group. The u11s were playing 7aside and this was our first ever competitive match with 7 on the court having only ever played BEE netball before.
The girls played amazingly, listened and took on board all the coaching points and really developed their team spirt coming away with a second place.
Ravens and Kestrels, our u13 teams had had a shuffle about of personal due to unavailability and so were also playing as a new team. Both teams rose to the occasion and played some phenomenal netball, Ravens finishing 4th while Kestrels just managed a couple more victories coming away with second place.
Next was Rooks who were in the u14 age group. They’ve developed over the season and have grown as a team showing potential and skill. They showed team work and never stopped running finishing in 2nd place.
Our last team, Eagles were playing up into a higher age group, while also having a couple of new players in the team. A tough ask for this team, but they just never gave up as always. A 4th place finish for them in the end.
The girls all came away with huge smiles and I’m sure we will be back to play again next season. Of course the whole day couldn’t have happened without the unsung heroes, the coaches and umpires who continually support our teams and allow the girls to participate. Without you all the teams would have no netball.
Well done everyone on a hugely successful day!
