After all the trials and tribulations of trying to play competitive netball in a pandemic, finally September saw a return to competitive match play under normal netball rules. Previously we had been playing friendlies under the modified version of rules. I know everyone at DAS were keen to get back to the normal rules.

We have worked hard since the start of the season, moulding new players, building teamwork and developing netball skills and we have managed to produce teams that could now represent us in local adult and junior leagues.

We have 2 teams entered into the North Dorset Netball League, both of which have started the season very strongly and are proving themselves greatly in Blandford on a Tuesday evening.

We have also entered 2 junior leagues, Salisbury and Poole.
Salisbury is a fun, league designed to offer netball to players who are newer to the sport or who are not getting high performance netball opportunities. Poole is a league designed to allow higher level competition opportunities while still being accessible to all teams.

Last weekend saw 2 of our teams play at Salisbury in the first fixtured weekend of this new league.
Owls, who were playing their first ever match against outside opposition and Ospreys who have only had a couple of friendly matches. The girls loved every minute and are extremely excited to get back to training and learn and develop from their experience.
